Auto-methanation Performance and Its Exergy Based Assessment in an Adiabatic Multi-Stage Spiral-Structured Catalyst Reactor System

Just accepted

Authors
Hiroshi Akama, Ryo Watanabe

This study evaluates auto-methanation performance and exergy efficiency without external heating in an adiabatic multi-stage spiral-structured catalyst reactor, toward on-site conversion of oxygen-containing industrial exhaust gas to methane.

PAPER ACCEPTED

Paper on methane dry reforming and solid carbon fixation accepted for publication

Dry Reforming of Methane with an Integrated Carbon-Capture Stage: Equilibrium Shifting and Solid Carbon Fixation

Journal of the Japan Petroleum Institute (2026)

Authors
Ryo Watanabe, Haruki Saito, Yu Nakazawa, Hiroshi Akama, Takehiko Moteki, Choji Fukuhara

The study examines equilibrium shifting and solid carbon fixation in methane dry reforming with an integrated carbon-capture stage.

Schematic of a reaction system that feeds methane and carbon dioxide through dry reforming, carbon formation and a second dry-reforming stage to produce syngas and solid carbon
Research concept: dry reforming → carbon formation → dry reforming

Catalyst Atlas — USA & Europe, a map of catalysis researchers in the United States and Europe, has been added.

Project 06 in Playground now features a 3D map for finding overseas catalysis researchers by state or country, university or research site, and research field. Named cards show research, achievements and sources, while regions and sites with featured researchers are displayed in gold.

Public information is checked on the first day of each month to update researcher data and highlights. Please use this as reference information for research and technology exploration. Access permission is required to view the map.

Career Compass is now publicly available for students exploring careers.

This web tool helps students reflect on their career-selection criteria and explore work and employers of interest. Answers and filters for fields, products and technologies narrow the list to at most 20 companies to investigate. Find it under Playground, Project 05.

For reference only. This tool does not recommend specific employers or occupations.

Check each company’s official website for current activities, vacancies and employment terms.

Research Tree explores research and collaboration connections within the university.

This 3D tool covers Shizuoka University’s Engineering, Informatics, Science and Agriculture faculties, using research themes, KAKEN projects and papers from the faculty database to explore research and potential collaborations. Find it under Playground, Project 04.

Connections are generated automatically from research keywords and are for reference only. They do not guarantee a collaboration record or feasibility.

Password-protected access is provided for university faculty. To request access, please contact Ryo Watanabe.

ChemTree and Catalyst Atlas are now available.

ChemTree explores recent chemistry papers through a 3D tree, while Catalyst Atlas locates catalysis researchers throughout Japan by prefecture, institution and research keywords. Researchers, engineers and companies can use these Playground tools to explore technology trends and collaborators. Catalyst Atlas checks and updates public information on the first day of each month.
