PROJECT 01 / LITERATURE EXPLORATION

ChemTree

Explore recent papers in JACS, Chem, Nature and Science through a 3D tree of connected research topics.

Explore recent chemistry papers as an interactive research landscape rather than a conventional list.

Recommended: desktop computer For the 3D tree, use Chrome or Edge on Windows or macOS. On smartphones, the 3D view is disabled, while paper search, journal and time filters, research fields, country trends, highlighted topics and paper links remain available.
PC recommended for the 3D tree. Smartphone users can use the Literature Explorer.

PROJECT 02 / RESEARCHER EXPLORATION

Catalyst Atlas

Find catalysis researchers across Japan using a 3D map, prefectures, institutions and research keywords. Profiles include photos, research areas and links to official profiles, papers and achievements.

A public tool for researchers, engineers and companies to find connections for research, collaboration and consultation.

47 PrefecturesUniversitiesKOSENNational InstitutesResearch KeywordsMonthly update

Official university and laboratory pages and public sources such as KAKEN are checked on the first of each month to update affiliations, positions and research fields.

PROJECT 03 / REACTION SIMULATION

Methanation Lab

Visualize temperature distributions in a packed catalyst bed during CO₂ methanation. Adjust kinetics and heat-transfer conditions to explore temperature maps and CO₂ conversion.

PROJECT 04 / CAMPUS COLLABORATION

Research Tree

A 3D researcher map for Shizuoka University faculty to explore research and collaboration connections within the university. Based on research themes, KAKEN projects and papers in the faculty database, it explains connections and provides public contact details.

University facultyPassword requiredFour facultiesCollaboration connections

Connections are generated automatically from research keywords. Use them for reference only.

Some collaboration suggestions are supplemented by comparing public information. Coauthorship and KAKEN records are distinguished from future suggestions. Suggestions do not guarantee willingness to collaborate or feasibility.

How to use
  1. Select “Open research map” and enter the password provided within the university.
  2. Search by name or keyword, or expand a faculty or research-field branch.
  3. Select a researcher to view research topics, KAKEN projects, papers and public contact details.
  4. Select a connected researcher to see the basis for the connection and possible discussion topics. Switch between new partners, new topics with existing partners and past collaborations.
  5. If public email or telephone details are available, use the detail view to contact the researcher.

Drag to rotate the 3D map and scroll to zoom. You can also use the list view. Add specially appointed staff, executives and post-retirement positions through the display filters.

Passwords are provided individually to university faculty. Do not forward or repost them outside the university. Interested faculty should contact Watanabe Laboratory.

PROJECT 05 / CAREER EXPLORATION

Career Compass

A career-exploration tool to help students consider their selection criteria. Answers identify work of interest; filters for fields, products and technologies narrow the list to at most 20 companies for further investigation.

Public accessExplore work and employersUp to 20 candidates

For reference only. This tool does not recommend specific employers or occupations.

No guarantee of suitability or recruitment prospects is implied. Data were collected at different times. Check official company websites for current activities, vacancies and employment terms.

PROJECT 06 / INTERNATIONAL CATALYSIS

Catalyst Atlas — USA & Europe

A 3D map for finding catalysis researchers in the United States and Europe by state or country, university or research site, and research field. Select a region and open a named researcher card from a research site to view research topics, representative achievements and sources.

USA & Europe3D researcher mapUpdated on the first day of each monthFeatured researchers highlighted

We introduce researchers noted for original achievements or international recognition and show their regions and research sites in gold. You can also find researchers in their forties whose ages can be confirmed from public information.

A reference resource for exploration based on public information. Please check each profile's sources for affiliations, achievements and ages. Everyone is welcome to use it.

More to come.

We will continue adding laboratory projects for research-data visualization, catalysis and reaction-engineering education, and literature exploration.
